What is MEIDU hair color?
MEIDU is a permanent oxidative hair color in a shampoo-style bottle. It contains p-phenylenediamine, resorcinol, m-aminophenol, ethanolamine, and hydrogen peroxide. It dispenses as one liquid from the pump. It is not a herbal rinse, not a semi-permanent gloss, and not a toner.
Does the shampoo bottle format make the formula gentler?
The bottle shape changes how the liquid dispenses, not the dye chemistry. The product works through an oxidative reaction using aromatic amines and hydrogen peroxide to open the hair shaft and deposit color. It carries the same chemical action as standard permanent hair dyes.
Is a skin patch test really necessary before coloring?
A skin test is required 48 hours before the first application. The formula contains known allergens including p-phenylenediamine and resorcinol. Apply a small amount to clean skin behind the ear or on the inner elbow, leave it undisturbed for 48 hours, and check for redness, burning, or swelling.
Will MEIDU lift dark hair to a lighter shade?
This product will not lighten dark hair. Oxidative dyes of this type deposit artificial pigment into the hair fiber rather than bleach out existing dark melanin. To see visible color from lighter shades, hair must already be light or pre-lightened.
What should I do if the color turned out darker than expected?
Oxidative dye builds up in the cortex, especially on dry, porous, or previously dyed hair. Washing with a clarifying shampoo can gradually fade surface tone. Do not apply another dark dye over it, as permanent oxidative pigment does not wash out in one step.
Can MEIDU be used on facial hair or eyebrows?
Never apply this product to eyebrows, eyelashes, or facial hair. The hydrogen peroxide and amine dyes can cause severe irritation, chemical burns, or eye injury. Keep the liquid strictly to scalp hair.

How do I return an unopened bottle?
Returns and refunds belong to the retailer where you bought the product. We operate an office in Boston, MA for written correspondence only, with no public counter, stock, or return processing. Submit your return request directly through the store account where you placed the order.
