What is inside the bottle
The liquid in our bottles is a permanent oxidative hair dye. We formulate it with synthetic aromatic amines, resorcinol, ethanolamine, and hydrogen peroxide to develop lasting pigment inside the hair fiber. It dispenses from the pump as a single liquid to work directly on dry hair.
What it does
- Aromatic amines including p-phenylenediamine and m-aminophenol couple to create the target pigment.
- Ethanolamine opens the hair cuticle layer so the active precursors enter the cortex.
- Hydrogen peroxide oxidizes the intermediate compounds to lock the new shade in place.
- Resorcinol modifies the oxidative coupling to achieve the specific brown, dark, or burgundy tone.
What it is not
- This formula is not a herbal rinse or a temporary plant stain.
- It is not a semi-permanent gloss that washes out over several days.
- Our dye is not an ammonia-free toner for bleached strands.
- The recipe is not free of PPD or synthetic oxidative chemicals.
The 48-hour skin test
Our color shampoo is a permanent oxidative dye containing p-phenylenediamine, resorcinol, and m-aminophenol. A patch test 48 hours before application is the only way to check your individual response to PPD, because contact dermatitis and allergic swelling often develop hours or days after exposure.

Clean a small patch of skin behind the ear or on the inner elbow, pump a drop of the color liquid onto a cotton swab, and apply it to the test area.

Leave the test spot untouched and uncovered for 48 hours, keeping the skin dry and free of soap, creams, or friction.

Inspect the site over the full 48 hours for redness, burning, itching, swelling, or blistering; if any reaction appears, do not apply the product to your hair.
Find your color direction
Most people know the tone they want before they settle on a specific name. We divided the shade range into three groups so you can find your starting point without reading every label.
The nine shades and your starting hair
The shade on the bottle is a starting point. The color underneath decides what happens next. Our four browns, three dark tones, and two burgundies deposit pigment on the hair strand. They cannot lift dark hair to a lighter shade. Gray or previously lightened hair takes the color directly, while dark hair shows a deeper tone or a faint cast in bright light. Choose a shade close to your current depth or darker.

How the color is packed
We put the same permanent dye into three options. What differs between them is the volume of liquid in the bottle and whether the keratin mask is included alongside the color shampoo.
How to use MEIDU hair color

Put on gloves and pump the liquid into your hands, working it into a lather without mixing anything in a dish.

Spread the lather evenly through dry, unwashed hair from the roots to the ends.

Leave the color on your hair for 20 to 25 minutes.

Rinse your hair thoroughly with water until the run-off is completely clear, then apply the conditioning mask.
How long the color holds
This is a permanent oxidative dye. The pigments form inside the hair shaft with hydrogen peroxide and aromatic amines, so the color does not wash out with water. What appears over time is new hair growth at the roots and the parting. Touch-ups depend on how fast your hair grows rather than a set number of days or washes.

We formulate bleaching powder in 45 g and 100 g sizes, a creme lightener in 150 g, and separate developer at 20 vol (6%) and 30 vol (9%). For a single prep step, our boxed bleach kit holds the essentials together. To adjust yellow tones after lifting, we include a 500 ml purple toner that deposits corrective pigment and lifts nothing on its own.

I actually loved the outcome of my hair. It covered my grays and achieved a color that my other dye products did not. The only downside for me is that it went on so smooth and clear, I did not notice the places where I dropped a little. By the time I was finished, my bathroom was painted black. I know to be much more careful next time.

It can. This is a permanent oxidative dye containing p-phenylenediamine, resorcinol, m-aminophenol, ethanolamine, and hydrogen peroxide. These chemicals can cause burning, redness, or allergic contact dermatitis. You must perform a skin test 48 hours before each application to check for reactions.
How long does the color hold?
The formula deposits permanent oxidative color into the hair shaft. How long it remains visible depends on hair porosity, wash frequency, water temperature, and root growth. We do not state a specific number of days or weeks for color retention.
Does it stain the skin and bathroom surfaces?
Yes. The oxidative dyes in the formula will discolor bare skin, fingernails, porous tiles, grout, and acrylic surfaces upon contact. Wear gloves, wipe drips from the skin immediately, and rinse any contact points on your sink or shower right away.
Does it take on stubborn gray hair?
Results on gray hair vary based on hair texture and resistance. The formula processes for 20 to 25 minutes on dry hair, but coarse or non-porous white strands may absorb less pigment than surrounding hair. We make no promise of complete gray coverage.
Can this color shampoo be used on a beard?
We do not advise it. Facial skin is thinner and more reactive than the scalp, increasing the likelihood of chemical irritation or swelling from aromatic amines and hydrogen peroxide. It must not be used near the mouth, nose, or eyes.
Can I use this product during pregnancy?
Ask a doctor, not us. We cannot evaluate medical safety or systemic absorption during pregnancy or nursing. Bring the ingredient list showing p-phenylenediamine, resorcinol, m-aminophenol, ethanolamine, and hydrogen peroxide to your physician.
